Yingjing County

Yingjing County, 762 meters above the sea level, is under the jurisdiction of Ya'an City. It takes 35 kilometers to Ya'an and 174 kilometers to Chengdu on the expressway. The mountain land accounts for 84% of the county's total area, which is about 1,800 square meters. In ancient times, Yingjing County was called Yandao, a significant county on the "Ancient Southern Silk Road" and "Ancient Tea Horse Road". Yingjing has a long history for more than 2,300 years. It is one of the nine earliest counties established in Sichuan after the union of China under Qin Empire's reign. Museum of the ancient Yandao City ruins displays various kinds of unearthed relics, ranging from the Spring and Autumn Period to Qin and Han Dynasty. All these relics are important material proof for the research of Southwestern ethnic history and Ba-Shu culture.

Yingjing County

Yingjing is located in the subtropical monsoon climate zone, but with features of mountain climate, because of the huge vertical landform differences. As a result, this area enjoys four distinct seasons, moderate weather, abundant raindrop and bountiful forestry. The combination of long history, special location endows Yingjing with luxuriant tourism resource.

Yingjing County

Longcanggou Valley, the nearest National Forest Park away from Chengdu, is located in Yingjing. Its ecosystem is under the best protection. The dense forests, filled with multitudinous streams and falls, enchant worldwide tourists. Azaleas blossom in spring. In summer, people come here to avoid hot weather. Autumn brings it with the beautiful view of maple leaves. Winter snow creates a leisurely world. Longcanggou has the largest wild Davidia Involucrata Baill woods on the earth for about 5,333 hectares. Davidia Involucrata Baill is a world-famous ornamental tree with flowers looking like doves. So it is also known as "Chinese Dove Tree", which implies peace. Chinese Dove Tree can be found nowhere all around the world but only in south China. This special tree is the remaining species of an archaic tropical plant 10 million years ago in the Tertiary. However, it gradually annihilated from most regions during the Ice Age in the Quaternary. As a result, Chinese Dove Tree, one of the eight first-ranking National Protected Plants, becomes the "living fossil" in botany, and is regarded as the "floral panda".

Yingjing County

Yingjing has China's most beautiful viewing platform-Niubei Mountain. A description in the Chinese National Geography: "Standing on top of the Niubei Mountain, people would catch the dreamlike scenery of the adjacent mountains, peeping through sea of clouds. Looking forward, Mt.Niba, Mt.Wawu, Mt.Emei, Mt.Jiajin, Mt.Siguniang and Mt.Erlang emerge before eyes. Mt.Gongga stands aside. Turning around, Dadu River sinuates through the Jinkou Grand Canyon. Almost all the famous mountains in Sichuan dwindle into exquisite miniascapes. Beneath the rolling clouds, mountain ranges lower down progressively, finally integrating with the fertile Chengdu Plain." For hikers and feverish photographers, a trip to Niubei Mountain is the world's greatest adventure.

Furthermore, Yingjing County is rich in humanistic and cultural tourism resources. The thousand-year-old Yunfeng Temple, the "Ancient Southern Silk Road" and "Ancient Tea Horse Road" are all waiting to be explored.
