The Hailuogou Glacier Forest Park is situated on the east slope of the Gongga Mountain on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, to the southwest of Luding County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It borders Kangding, the hometown of love songs in the southwest. The Hailuogou Glacier Forest Park is famous for snow-clad mountains, clouds, glaciers, forests, hot springs, sunlight and red rocks. The Hailuogou Glacier Forest Park area is one of the world's most famous production bases of alpine flowers. In spring, the blooming mountain flowers compose a sea of multiple colors: in summer, the mountains are carpeted with green grass; and in autumn, the entire place turns gold. Thanks to a favorable ecological environment, grown here are hundreds of species of plants, including primrose, gentian. Saussurea, Meconopsis integrifolia,alpine azalea, Kangding magnolia, redwood, Taxus chinensis, and Picea brachytyla. Of these, the Meconopsis integrifolia is a world-famous flower, and Kangding magnolia is a globally rare species that is unique to the Hengduan Mountains and blooms in early spring before leaves come out. Blossoms in four colors, red, pink, purple and white, may he found on one same magnolia tree, and the petals emit elegant fragrance. In May and June each year, the alpine azaleas are in full blossom in red, purple, white, yellow, and light green, carpeting the entire mountain valley.
