The Latest News about Jiuzhaigou Valley National Park 2019

Jiuzhaigou national park, a scenic spot in Sichuan province on the UNESCO World Natural Heritage list, will reopen to tourists on September 27, 2019. It was temporarily closed after a magnitude 7 earthquake in August 2017. After two years of reconstruction, it has reopened 85 percent of the scenic areas to its tourists. But unlike previous years, in 2019, the Jiuzhaigou official publish some new tourism regulations. Now, just follow us to learn about the latest regulations of Jiuzhaigou Valley.

1. What Are the Attractions Tourists Can Expect?

According to the official report of Jiuzhaigou, it has reopened some parts of Jiuzhaigou to tourists on September 27, 2019. Opening areas include Shuzheng Valley(except Flaming Lake), Zechawa Valley and part of Rize Valley (from Nuorilang to Five-flower Lake). Notably, most of the main scenic spots of Jiuzhaigou are located in the opening areas, such as Long Lake (长海), Five-Color Pond (五彩池), Nuorilang Waterfall (诺日朗瀑布), Mirror Lake (镜海), Shuzheng Lakes (树正群海), Double Dragon Lakes (双龙海), etc. It is really worth a visit!

2. How to Get to Jiuzhaigou?

It is very convenient to get to Jiuzhaigou. There are two ways for you to reach there: by air or by bus. It takes about 45mins to get to Jiuzhaigou Huanglong Airport from Chengdu Shuangliu Airport, which operates the most frequent schedules of flight to Jiuzhaigou each day, reaching to over 20 flights during the peak season. Besides, you can reach there by bus, which takes approximately 10 hours to get there.

Note: You can take bus in Chengdu Chadianzi Bus Station; Address: 289, 5th Section of West Third Ring Road, Jinniu District, Chengdu; Ticket: around 170 RMB), which takes about 10 hours.

3. How to Visit the Jiuzhaigou National Park?

According to the regulation, at present, Jiuzhigou only receives tourist groups that are organized by licensed travel agency, who will help you book tickets and buy travel insurance. If you want to visit Jiuzhaigou, just contact a professional travel agency to help you arrange your holiday.

Note: Independent travelers are not allowed to visit Jiuzhaigou.

4. Fees for Admission Tickets and Park Bus

 Notably, there are only 2,000 tickets are sold each day, and only to tour groups, not individuals. Entry tickets cost 110 yuan (US$17) from April to November, and 40 yuan (US$6) in March, November, and December, and sightseeing bus tickets cost 90 yuan (US$14). Children and the elderly get discounted tickets.

Note: Tourists can only book ticket on official website of Jiuzhaigou National Park and one passport can only book one ticket. Travelers can book tickets up to 90 days in advance.

5. Tourists Capacity

Only 5000 travelers are allowed to enter Jiuzhaigou National each day.
